mselect is hiring a Production Technologist for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have 5+ years proven experience as production technologist in the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English is a must.     
 
JOB OBJECTIVE
As Production Technologist will be contributing to the reservoir and well surveillance activities including daily well monitoring as well as downhole data QC and analysis. Participate in the preparation of rig and rig-less interventions requirement and follow the implementation. In addition, you will be in charge of production optimization, well integrity analysis, preparation of well perforation strategy. Furthermore, your role includes screening, evaluation and proposal for the implementation of new technologies in the operated field.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Daily field and well production monitoring and timely reporting
  • Performing routine QA/QC on all production and completion data relevant to building production models
  • Performing production analysis and optimization under surface and reservoir constraints
  • Performing nodal analysis, tubing lift calculations and evaluation (erosional velocity, liquid loading analysis) at various production stages and operating conditions
  • Designing, analyzing, and optimizing artificial lift systems including but not limited to gas lift, ESP
  • Performing nodal analysis, vertical lift performance calculations, tubing lift evaluation including erosional and liquid loading analysis at various operating conditions
  • Preparing perforation design proposals and recommend the optimum perforation strategy
  • Evaluating surface production facilities impact on field performance and finding any bottlenecks in the production system
  • Conducting pressure transient analysis (PTA) and rate transient analysis (RTA) studies
  • Evaluating new technologies, tools or techniques and review the suitability for the operated field and prepare presentation of proposals to management
  • Identifying work over candidates for production enhancement with the appropriate type of intervention, screening, and prioritizing
  • Evaluating acid/hydraulic frac stimulation and find re-stimulation opportunities
  • Understanding Digital Oilfield concepts: configuration requirements and communication protocols necessary to acquire data from field, data flow between SCADA and production optimization platform to monitor real time production operations
  • Designing and evaluating sand control tools (sand screens, gravel pack)
  • Designing and evaluating all water shut off methods and the suitability of each method for the operated field
  • Prepare detailed SoP (scope of work) and share with related departments
Health, Security, Safety and Environment:
  • Demonstrate safety awareness and strongly advocate Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and guidelines. Ensure clear description and communication of subsurface risks during drilling of new wells
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSSE management policies, procedures and controls within own area, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating on a continuous basis, and a responsible environmental attitude
  • Leading by example and develop a strong safety-first culture within the own and (sub) contractor workforce
People & Contractor Management:
  • Completing all mandatory training as assigned, including the required HSE training. Maintain an acceptable HSE record and comply with all safety rules and company policies
  • Manage the activities and work performed by Contractors and ensure that it is carried out in an efficient and effective manner Build good relationships with key stakeholders
  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of employees
  • Develop overview of contractor’s strength and weaknesses and intervene as and when required exercising contractual rights
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures:
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency
  • Implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Reporting:
  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet Subsurface requirements, policies and standards

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
Minimum Experience:
  • Have 5+ years proven experience as production technologist
  • Knowledge of Well and Reservoir Management
  • Experience with asphaltenes related issues
Job-Specific Skills:
  • Proficient in NODAL Analysis Software’s, Prosper, Pipesim
  • Proficient in integrated production modelling
  • Familiar with OFM software
  • Familiar with pressure transient analysis and production logging software such as Kappa and Emeraude
  • Have Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Have good presentation skills
