MSELECT is looking for a Store Manager for a food and beverage client in Erbil. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in managing a food service concept. English and Kurdish fluency is a must, Arabic is a plus.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day operations of the required locations as directed
  • Recruit, train, and supervise shop staff on various aspects of customer service, drinks preparation, proper use of equipment, hygiene standards, food preparation and more according to brand standards
  • Prepare weekly work schedule for FOH staff, find suitable replacements in cases of staff absence, and report scheduling and payroll to relevant parties
  • Ensure that all café expenses are within budget and identify ways to decrease operational costs
  • Receive delivered supplies and verify that the correct items and quantities have been delivered as per kitchen requirements and budget projections
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability and develop supplier relations based on market conditions
  • Take inventory of café supplies and order new stock as needed per BOH and FOH requirements
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding food quality, customer service and other necessary aspects
  • Suggest and implement new products based on customers’ preferences, feedback and market tastes
  • Identify strategies to retain and attract customers while growing sales to achieve expected targets
  • Suggest and implement policies, rules, and responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness in coordination with the Operations Manager
  • Achieve or exceed targets outlined by the Operations Manager and coordinate the implementation of promotions, special offers, and sales strategies to maximize revenue
  • Ensure employees adhere to job responsibilities and provide training and support as needed to achieve targets and operational standards
  • Monitor staff through performance assessments, provide feedback and set challenging goals to improve performance
  • Identify and address issues in store performance while following up as necessary to ensure implementation
  • Work with Operations Manager on setting targets, budgets and other plans
  • Forecast consumption, budgets, and other critical measures to maximize sales and minimize expenses
  • Submit on time and accurate reports to Operations Manager, Accountant, and Executive Chef related to daily, weekly and monthly revenues, expenses, transfers, wastage, and other necessary reporting features
  • Implement training, development, and motivation programs to store staff and ensure team members are performing according to brand expectations
  • Coordinate and work with Marketing team to ensure content meets brand standards on a daily basis while assisting in the development of new marketing initiatives, monthly planning and other related activities
  • Suggest and implement new techniques to increase business and the company’s standing in the market
  • Provide expense and supplier receipts and reports to Accounting department as necessary to contribute to the maintenance of appropriate records and reports
  • Plan budgets and request petty cash for upcoming operations and distribute to needed staff as necessary for purchasing while checking and maintaining receipts and records according to operational rules
  • Adhere to timely procurement and budgeted costs during the operational period
  • Schedule regular meetings with staff to discuss business opportunities and issues while following up to achieve such metrics
  • Communicate clearly with all employees and management to ensure effective store operations
  • Coordinate with third party vendors such as delivery companies to ensure effective daily performance and coordinate with Operations Manager to implement necessary changes
  • Assist in the development of new branches and franchised locations as necessary

 

Skills

  • Language Skills: Must know English & Kurdish- Arabic is a bonus
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook), Familiar with Windows and Mac software (Windows & OS X), basic working knowledge of POS systems and computers
  • Organizational Skills: Must be a good communicator, organized, attention to detail, able to work under pressure, customer relationship management, financial forecasting, staff training and management
  • Other Skills: Must have previous food service industry management experience

Requirements:

  • Education: at least an Undergraduate (Bachelors) University/College Degree
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing a food service concept
  • Preferred Nationality: Any
  • Working Conditions: (6) Days per week & (10) hours per day
