Job Objective
- To assist in the supervision of professional firefighting and emergency response watches, in support of Field Development
Responsibilities
- Attends meetings and administrative duties, in the absence of Watch Supervisor
- Ensure positive Fire Watch Handovers
- Update Watch on daily activities & duties
- Assist with Watch tasking & duties are being conducted efficiently
- Assist, to ensure Fire Team Watch personnel & resources/materials are available for approved & scheduled High Risk Activities and emergency incidents
- Assist with all Fire & ERT Watch administration
- Be reachable at all times (phone/radio) in preparation for emergency response, during their work rotation
- Ensure MFD Fire Vehicles & equipment inspections are conducted and findings recorded
- Attends HSE meetings where required, in the absence of Watch Supervisor
- Assist with the running of daily emergency drills
- Assist MLC with fire and emergency response training courses, if required
- Carry out additional tasks expected from a modern Fire & Emergency Response Team Assistant Watch Supervisor Including, but not limited to; Oil Spill, Environmental Incidents and other critical infrastructure support
- Assist with personnel development of the Fire & ER Watch
- Deputise as the focal point at any emergency incidents, and able to brief management on incident status
- Performs a variety of checks on preventive and corrective maintenance of fire equipment and resources
Qualification & Training requirements
- University Degree or College graduate or equivalent in a technical discipline
- Basic or advanced international firefighting accreditation (JOIFF etc)
- Incident/On Scene Commander
- SCBA User
- Oil spill response
- First Aid
- DDT (if required to drive on duty)
- MFD Induction training (ERW)
- Emergency response for work site situations (WAH, CSE, H2S etc)
- Medically fit
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience within the Oil & Gas industry
- Good understanding of and demonstrable hands-on experience in all functional aspects of firefighting, emergency response (including oil spill and incident management)
