Job Summary
The senior accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual reports
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
- Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Prepare financial management reports (Analytical reports)
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end accounting closing processes
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Monitor and support taxation requirements
- Preparing the needed data for financial audits and requirements initiated from Internal Audit department
- Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Collect and analyse financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
Qualifications
- Accounting degree or equivalent
- Arabic Speaking with English fluent level
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
- In-depth experience of accounting computer applications
- 5 years’ experience in the management of financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation, and providing financial advice
