Restaurant Manager

mselect is looking to hire a Restaurant Manager for or a hospitality and catering client in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management role within a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

JOB PURPOSE
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant's operations to deliver an exceptional dining experience in line with our 4-star standards. This role includes overseeing staff, ensuring high levels of customer service, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff including servers, hosts, and kitchen personnel

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff

  • Schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs effectively

  • Address and resolve staff conflicts and disciplinary issues

Customer Service:

  • Always ensure exceptional guest service, handling complaints and special requests with professionalism

  • Monitor and improve service standards to meet or exceed 4-star rating expectations

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and retention

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations including opening and closing procedures

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and cleanliness standards

  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, coordinating with vendors and suppliers

  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management

Quality Control:

  • Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation

  • Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant’s physical condition, including kitchen and dining areas

  • Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures and standards

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional events and strategies

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations

  • Utilize guest feedback to drive improvements and innovative practices


REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management role within a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a must

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
