Chief Marketing Officer

mselect is looking to hire a Chief Marketing Officer – CMO for a marketing services client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years in marketing, including at least 5 years in leadership roles within marketing agencies. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
The Chief Marketing Officer, commonly referred to as the CMO, is a key executive responsible for overseeing the marketing strategy and initiatives of an organization. This role involves leading marketing efforts, managing brand development, and driving customer engagement to enhance the overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy: Define and lead an overall marketing strategy to grow both our brand and clients' brands
  • Marketing Services Oversight: Manage the delivery of services such as SEO, Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing, Paid Campaigns (PPC), Email Marketing, Brand Strategy Consulting
  • Client Relationship Management: Customize strategies for each client and build strong, results-driven relationships
  • Campaign Planning & Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of marketing campaigns
  • Marketing Materials & Delivery: Ensure quality and accuracy in all delivered campaigns, creatives, reports, and performance insights
  • Market Research: Conduct analytical research on target markets and competitors to deliver data-driven strategies
  • Brand Building: Expand brand presence through partnerships, creative campaigns, and thought leadership
  • Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional marketing teams and encourage teamwork and productivity
  • Client Portfolio Management: Handle multiple client accounts and deliver tailored, effective solutions
  • Reporting & Analytics: Provide accurate marketing analytics to support decision-making for both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with sales and product teams to align on marketing goals
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies
  • Budget Management: Ensure effective use of marketing budgets to maximize value
  • Client Onboarding: Lead the onboarding process for new clients with custom strategies
  • Retention & Growth: Develop strategies for client retention and increased repeat business
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all marketing activities meet legal and ethical standards
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze KPIs to improve performance continuously
  • Training & Development: Create internal training programs to upskill the marketing team

Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years in marketing, including at least 5 years in leadership roles within marketing agencies
  • Strong experience managing multiple client accounts in diverse industries
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of modern marketing tools and strategies
