mselect is looking to hire a Business Development Manager for an international development consultancy in Erbil. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with international non-profit organizations or consultancy firms. Fluency in English, Arabic is a must, Kurdish is a plus.
ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish a strong network with the development agencies and international community and key stakeholders for new initiatives and programs
- Lead programs formulations and direct the company for these opportunities including early research, understanding the development landscape and directions of development agencies and other donors
- Develop concept notes, proposals, and program framing according to the requirements on the ground and strategies set by the country and the donors
- Work with headquarters and the field-based program staff to develop and support country-level program development opportunities
- Evaluate partnerships with different implementation groups and actors in the development fields and forge partnerships
- Develop monthly and periodic reports with opportunities, targets and achievements
- Liaise with our regional staff regarding upcoming opportunities
- Represent the Company in market events and business development meetings
- Exert efforts in identifying professionals according to required set of expertise and scopes of work in proposals
- Conduct research and develop knowledge in sectors, geographic areas and services
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (preferably a master’s degree) in international development, international business, MBA, MPA or related fields (Graduate studies from USA, Canada, UK, or European Universities)
- Project formulation, concepts development, and proposals writing
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience related to international development in international non-profit organizations or consultancy firms
- Solid understanding of funding mechanisms and procurement procedures in the development sector
- Pro-active work approach, with an attention to detail and able to support multiple and shifting demands and deadlines
- Result oriented character and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiating and communication capability with different groups including government, international development agencies and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in Arabic and English – Kurdish is a plus
- Ready to travel within Iraq (north, south and center)
