mselect is looking to hire a Scaffolding Specialist for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience related to (petrochemical/ oil/ gas/ chemical/ industrial). English and Arabic fluency is a must.
JOB OBJECTIVE
To carry out Scaffolding discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of facilities. To plan, organize, and control a scaffold of the construction for the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and review the scaffold procedure and standard for the projects
- Coaching/training for scaffold safely of company employees and contractors
- Run the scaffold procedure and move into the site supervisor role completing ongoing inspection and verification
- Perform risk assessment of scaffold in project department
- Develop and review the method statement scaffold
- Review contractor`s scaffold material and person’s certification
- Assess and check contractor’s scaffold tools and person`s abilities
- Site supervising for all the contractor’s scaffold activities including site TBT
- Reviewing the scaffold method statement of contractors
- Ability to lead/make safety audit and provide ideas for improvement
- Other tasks assigned by the leader
- Responsible for coordinating with contractors as well as the contract holder
- Responsible for ensuring safe work practices are followed by contractors reporting to line manager according to the laid out HSSE procedures in AOS
- Responsible for raising material requisitions as applicable
- Responsible for planning of activities in the area of working of the team of Construction
- Assist with any other appropriate duties and responsibilities as and when required
- Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to as far as reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform all assigned tasks to the highest professional standards with due professional diligence and care
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical qualification/ certification in discipline and scaffold recognition certification
- Mechanical background with bachelor’s degree
- Proven Managerial Skills
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
- Focus on continuous self-learning and Team Improvement
- Good Technical Knowledge
- Ability to impart training
- Experience in preparing meaningful reports
- English – Excellent (Spoken & Written)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience related to (petrochemical/ oil/ gas/ chemical/ industrial)
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Computer Skills:
- MS Office: Excel, Word and Power point – Advanced
- Work related software
