mselect is looking to hire a Reservoir Engineer for an oil and gas service client in Baghdad. Candidates must have a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience and be fluent in English and Arabic.
 
JOB OBJECTIVE
To optimise production of oil and gas via proper well placement, production levels and enhanced oil recovery techniques. Use computer simulations to assist in the identification of risks and to make forecasts on reservoir potential.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspecting the structural integrity of reservoirs, including reviewing water quality samples and inspecting for construction defects or damage due to natural disasters
  • Developing computer models to track water supply and demand to ensure that the reservoir can meet future needs
  • Conducting tests on new designs to ensure that they meet safety standards or are structurally sound
  • Evaluating water quality in reservoirs to detect contamination by harmful bacteria or other pathogens
  • Monitoring the status of equipment located at the reservoir site, such as pumps or valves
  • Coordinating with other engineers to ensure that designs meet construction requirements
  • Consulting with local government agencies to help plan for future growth in population or industrial activity
  • Preparing reports on findings and recommendations for further action
 
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological or Petroleum Engineering. These disciplines provide the foundational knowledge for reservoir engineering, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, geology and engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a related field
  • Possess strong analytical skill and effectively communicate technical data
  • Reserve/volumetric estimation
  • Highly proficient in research, analysis, presentation and reporting skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
