mselect is looking to hire a Facilities Engineer for an international oil & gas operator in Basrah. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of field operational and development experience. English and Arabic fluency is a must.
 
ROLE SYNOPSIS
The Facilities optimisation and debottlenecking engineer will be responsible for technical assessing opportunities to debottleneck the surface facilities and fine tune production balance across the various degassing stations to maximise throughput safely and reliably.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Liaise closely with other ROO departments and external vendors to identify bottlenecks and deliver solutions to improve system capacity
  • Support the Optimization Team to resolve plant technical issues, process improvements, operability improvements and troubleshooting
  • Support projects that will be to improve the overall Salt in Crude performance, support Gas / Flare reduction initiatives
  • Support TAR team in prioritising schedule and scope of work
  • Assist in loss reporting and tracking
  • Liaise with Optimisation Manager and production personnel to identify optimum well manifold and slot allocations through the train balance optimisation process
  • Liaise with projects teams for future developments within client and assist in the areas of design operability
  • Provide technical support operations and troubleshooting support for Main Operations, Maintenance and Shutdown Teams
  • Propose and support optimisation opportunities improvements to the plant driven by capacity constraints
  • Work closely with Operations, Subsurface and Projects teams in ROO HQ
  • The position is based in ROO working a 28 /28* rotation or as agreed upon with line manager.  Working with a Back 2 Back position
 
Criteria & Qualifications
  • Engineering or science related degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of field operational and development experience
  • Proven experience in oil and gas facility operation and debottlenecking
  • Upper intermediate level of English proficiency
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work within a multicultural environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong networking and facilitation skills
  • Bias for action and strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and high initiative
 
Working time schedule:
Rotational (28 days on, 28 days off)
