mselect is looking to hire a Social Investment Manager for an international energy client in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder engagement and dialogue:
  • Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with the stakeholders of the social investment’s programs (i.e., Government, Implementing Partners, NGOs, Multilateral Organizations, Communities)
  • Coordinate a program targeting local NGOs & SCOs (Standing Conference on Organizational Symbolism) capacity building and inclusion in the SI (Sustainability Investments) Program to safeguard sustainability
  • Ensure positive dialogue with all stakeholders based on listening, respect and understanding, taking local context into consideration
  • Facilitate both internal & External Social Investment Committees and the develop the related TORs (Term of Reference). Animate a staff initiatives and participation forum to ensure a level of participation of staff in the SI initiatives (Action!) Ensure that participatory approach is applied with all interested stakeholders, especially targeted beneficiaries
  • Liaise with the Stakeholder Engagement team to ensure Social Investment efforts are captured in the engagements and with the Communication team to further communicate on the value generated by the Company
Design & implementation of social investment projects:
  • Ensure Social Strategy is aligned with both Iraq/Basra Development Plans, communities need and Company Social Responsibility (CSR) guidelines
  • Develop a program for building the capacity of local development NGOs in consultation with International multilateral organization
  • Promote co-development of projects with multilateral agencies, NGOs, and industrial actors
  • Identify opportunities to leverage external funding and/or build on existing initiatives
  • In parallel of the Strategic SI roadmap deployment, ensure agility to sponsor key events and show solidarity in well selected causes for donation
  • Mobilize staff around SI programs and maximize the opportunities for them to participate
Monitoring & evaluation:
  • Develop a governance of steering committees with each strategic program implementing partner to follow up implementation progress
  • Conducts regular field visits, project close-out survey and report in additional to post close-out survey to measure impact KPIs
  • Ensure social investment’s projects implementation within time and budget
  • Monitors community perception toward company's developmental strategy, programs, and communication
Reporting:
  • Collect and register all related data within the dedicated software
  • Prepares periodic technical and financial progress reports showing the business value benefits generated by SI
  • Contribute to overall sustainability risk management mapping
  • Coordinate with Communication team to efficiently communicate around social investment projects & outcomes.
Management:
  • Contribute to the recruitment and supervise a team of staff with appropriate experience and competencies able to deliver tangible positive impacts
  • Ensure mentoring and know-how transfer to SI staff. Mobilize all TEEPRH staff around SI programs and maximize the opportunities for them to participate

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development/ Sustainability/ Anthropology/ Sociology
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the design and implementation of local development program either for an international development NGO or agency or within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Advanced project management skills and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain good relations with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work autonomous
  • Good understanding of cultural, personal and community issues
  • In- depth understanding of the economic, political, and social dynamics in operation
  • Good reporting, negotiations, analytical, managerial and conflict management skills
  • With High integrity, capacity to dialogue essential, superior negotiation, conflict management & communications skills
