Role Synopsis
The Risk and Compliance coordinator supports the organization in embedding effective risk and compliance practices across departments. The role ensures that risks are consistently identified, assessed, and managed, while compliance requirements are clearly communicated, implemented, and monitored. This position acts as a facilitator and coordinator with business teams, supporting risk owners and leadership in driving a proactive risk culture and strong compliance performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support leadership teams in embedding a culture of proactive risk management and controls oversight
- Facilitate the development and administration of the risk registers and action plans
- Promote and coach risk management competency across functional business teams
- Facilitate risk identification, assessment, planning, monitoring, and reporting activities for the business
- Coordinate regular risk reviews across all levels of the business
- Communicate compliance requirements to the business and support the relevant departments' implementation
- Identify risks arising from non-compliance across departments
- Coordinate with business teams in strengthening preventative controls and compliance-related risk reduction
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering, business, safety/risk management
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas or other related industry, including experience with management systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to coach, facilitate, and build effective cross-functional relationships
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with business and risk management software/tools (intermediate level or above)
- Background in operations within the oil & gas industry
- Recognized professional certification in Risk Management (e.g. ISO 31000) or Compliance Management
- Experience in Risk and compliance management in an operational or business setting
