Job Purpose
Production operations Technician is responsible for ensuring the production facilities are running smoothly and making any necessary changes to optimize throughput and operating efficiency. He performs regular checks and keep records of temperatures, pressures, concentrations, and flows. and minor equipment maintenance and housekeeping. He monitors equipment, ensure that production goals are being met, and adjust as needed to keep everything running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of the organization’s Health, safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility
- Operate oil and gas production wells and facilities within operating envelope
- Reports Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, so corrective actions can be taken
- Propose proper maintenance notifications to correct deficiencies as they arise through paper and electronic systems
- Start-ups, Shut-downs, Emergency Control and Upset Conditions to maintain a safe and environmentally sound facility
- Operate the units, monitor and adjust unit controls auxiliary equipment and multiple processing units during processing or treating operations to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions
- Troubleshoot control issues and perform minor maintenance such as filling pump lubrication systems with oil
- Have a considerable amount of experience in plant commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting and normal operation
- Observe local instruments, gauges, and meters to verify conformance to standard operating practice
- Collects samples of various streams and delivers them to the laboratory
- At the direction of the control Room Operator, he starts and stops pumps, compressors and other equipment
- Patrols the plant and ensures that the equipment is operating normally and that no unusual conditions exist
- Prepare equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, steaming, N2 purging and other procedures as required
- Directly responsible for issuing Safe Work Permits, initiating Lock Out/Tag Out clearances and isolations, conducting confined space permit surveys for determining safe work conditions
- Directly responsible for plant housekeeping programs and material handling safety precautions to ensure safe working conditions always exist in the plant
- Maintains a plant log sheet and maintain shift log and proper handover between shifts
Requirements
Qualification & Training requirement Experience:
- Completion of Technical Secondary Education (12 years) followed at least by 3 years diploma in a technical discipline (Mech, Elec or process)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Oil & Gas Industry oilfields and wellhead operation
- Microsoft Office: (Excel – Intermediate, Word – Intermediate, PowerPoint – Intermediate)
- SAP – intermediate
- English – upper intermediate (verbal & written)
