Job Objective
As Team Lead – Community Relations (Field), you will ensure that all community relations activities in the field are carried out professionally and consistently in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy and related guidelines, supporting the company’s exploration, development, and related operations in Kurdistan, Iraq.
Key Responsibilities
Community Relations Management:
- Establish a consistent and professional approach to managing community relations aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
- Lead frontline interactions with community stakeholders to ensure successful operations and compliance with laws and regulations
- Identify and map local and indigenous communities, including their decision-making processes
- Build and maintain a network of key contacts with stakeholders, community leaders, government representatives, and industry peers
- Provide guidance and full support to the CR field team, ensuring effective conflict resolution and team productivity
- Identify all community consultation requirements and necessary approvals, coordinating their completion
- Manage contractors assigned to specific consultation processes and monitor performance
- Provide community relations awareness, training, and education to company staff and contractors
- Act as the company representative in relevant government agencies when required
- Assist in team administration, logistics, and other related tasks
- Interpret relevant statutes, regulations, and compliance requirements; provide operational support to ensure adherence
- Prepare monitoring reports and other documentation related to consultation processes and approvals
- Support recruitment and termination processes for local employees, ensuring fairness and compliance
- Work with the finance department to manage local salaries, payments, and allowances according to regulations
- Assume leadership in the absence of the CR Field Supervisor, particularly during crisis communications and emergency response situations
- Participate in special projects or other company initiatives as requested
- Provide CR-related advice to managers and support decision-making
- Translate CR and government documents (letters, contracts, reports) between Kurdish and English
- Provide verbal translation during interactions between the CR team, company staff, local communities, contractors, stakeholders, and government officials
- Assist with administrative tasks, including research and drafting responses to routine inquiries
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in CSR-related roles, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry
- Fluent in English and Kurdish (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Strong translation and communication skills, especially in explaining complex concepts
- Additional CSR-related certifications or university qualifications are an asset
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment within an international organization
- Must demonstrate ethics, integrity, honesty, trust, teamwork, and collegiality

- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
