Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical design and engineering services in Mechanical Engineering for all assigned engineering projects Achieving the technical quality of work in accordance with the applicable procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE
- Conduct Mechanical Engineering (Static) activities and in-house site surveys for projects, from the initial concept definition phase through to, engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning
- Directly responsible for ensuring Mechanical design/engineering Consultants/Contractor's deliverables comply with requirements Assesses and approves/recommends suitability of Mechanical Engineering submissions by Consultants/Contractors
- Single point technical responsibility and accountability for all assigned projects, within the Mechanical design/engineering area of authority
- Able to operate within broad guidelines set by established Company procedures, and guided by Engineering Codes and standards
- Responsible for evaluation, assessment and recommendation of new vendors proposed during the project phase
- Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variation to approved guidelines and practices
- Responsible and accountable for technical integrity and safety of designs
- Requires minimal guidance and instruction
- Work accomplishments are not subject to third-party design checks
- Assess and recommend the technical suitability of Tenderers to perform the work, within Mechanical engineering areas of responsibility
- Perform in-house design/engineering and prepare design documents for different phases of projects
- Contractor design document review, vendor document review, and liaise with Contactors and vendors
- Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, and environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed, in work scopes and whilst conducting Mechanical Engineering (Static) activities Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices
- Provide discipline-specific technical expertise and support to assigned projects
- Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards
- Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements
- Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities Ensure the work scope is comprehensive and clear
- Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues
- Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery
- Conduct/review evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance
- Responsible for evaluation, assessment and recommendation of new vendors proposed during the project phase
- Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variation to approved guidelines and practices
- Plays a vital role and functions as a part of the Project Task Force (PTF), formed with a specific objective of successful Project Implementation, consisting of discipline engineers, project engineers and construction supervisors
- Liaises with Project Engineers, other Discipline Engineers and End-users to develop cost-effective, safe, and fit-for-purpose design solutions meeting corporate requirements
- Support the development of personal technical competency and skills, and those of Co-workers Participate in structured training for Associate Engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered/Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable
- Minimum 10 years of relevant post-graduate experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Mechanical Engineering (Static)
- Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple-project environment
- Experience in different phases of project execution, including concept development, FEED, EPIC, and technical support to site/plant operation
- Strong technical competency in a broad range of Static equipment and packages used in the Oil and Gas industry
- Experience in onshore, offshore, greenfield and brownfield projects
- Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency in conducting presentations
