mselect is looking to hire a Procurement Specialist for an oil and gas service company in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have 5–10 years of experience in a technical field, with a background in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain in the oil & gas industry. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must, Arabic is a plus.

Job Purpose
The jobholder is a dynamic and results-driven professional who thrives on taking initiative and making things happen. This role is best suited for individuals who take full accountability and are driven by results in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.

Key Responsibility
  • Actively source and identify suitable international manufacturers, main sources, and brands
  • Prepare RFQs, analyze quotations, and conduct both commercial and technical evaluations
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for technical equipment, spare parts, and services
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective sourcing strategies
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favourable terms while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards
  • Proactively track purchase orders and follow up to guarantee on-time delivery
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of suppliers, contracts, and procurement activities
  • Support vendor qualification processes and develop a comprehensive active vendor list
  • Continuously monitor market trends, pricing, and lead times to enhance sourcing efficiency

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a related technical field
  • 5–10 years of experience in a technical field, with a background in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain (oil & gas sector experience preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge combined with procurement awareness
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP knowledge is an advantage
  • Fluency in Kurdish and English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus
