Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Human Resources Management
- Develop and implement the company’s HR strategy aligned with corporate objectives and Iraqi labor law
- Advise management on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession development
- Participate in strategic planning meetings to ensure HR initiatives support operational needs
- Promote a positive organizational culture built on safety, integrity, and performance
- Plan and oversee the recruitment and selection process for local staff
- Ensure all vacancies are filled in line with approved manpower plans and budget
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and ensure transparent hiring practices
- Conduct reference checks, employment offers, and onboarding of new hires
- Foster effective communication between management and employees
- Handle grievances, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution professionally and fairly
- Ensure compliance with Iraqi Labor Law and company policies
- Implement the performance appraisal system and ensure timely evaluations
- Guide managers on setting objectives, feedback, and performance improvement plans
- Analyze performance results to identify training needs and career development opportunities
- Administer payroll, allowances, bonuses, and benefits in coordination with Finance
- Review and update salary scales, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity
- Develop and maintain HR cost forecasts and manpower budgets
- Identify training needs across departments and develop annual training plans
- Organize internal and external training sessions and maintain training records
- Support career development and succession planning within the organization
- Develop, implement, and periodically update HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with local labor regulations, visa and residency laws, and company's code of conduct
- Maintain accurate employee records and the confidentiality of HR data
- Maintain employee data in the ERP system and ensure the accuracy of HR modules
- Generate periodic HR reports (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, leave balances, etc)
- Monitor attendance and leave management in coordination with departments
- Collaborate with the HSE Department to promote a safe working environment
- Ensure that HR practices support the company’s safety and security culture
- Participate in emergency planning and employee awareness programs
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to deliver efficient and professional service
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across HR functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of HR experience, including 5+ years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of Iraqi Labor Law and HR best practices
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compensation & benefits
- Skilled in leadership, communication, and team development
- Fluent in English and Arabic
