Job Purpose
A team leader is a person who provides guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to a group of individuals (the team) to achieve a key result or group of aligned results. The team leader monitors the quantitative and qualitative achievements of the team and reports results to the manager. He will be responsible for managing the accounting and accounts payable staff, coordinating month-end closing activities, and ensuring the completeness of monthly General Ledger recording (inter-company transactions, sales and reporting activities). He will handle tasks for the client's company and its sister companies, subsidiaries, and affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members
- Management and oversight of team members, including coaching, mentoring, training and career development
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Monitor the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies
- Manages and supervises the projects accounting and controls team responsible for transactional functions on material transactions, budget updates, sales order upload, accruals, financing and debt draws
- Perform financial analysis on project cost and revenue
- Support budget preparations and management reporting
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Recommend and apply proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
- Adhere to company policies, procedures and internal law
- Other tasks requested by management based on business needs
Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance or Equivalent degree
- Proven 8 years of working experience as an Accounting Team Leader or Accounting Supervisor
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Advanced Communication Skills
- Competent in both Arabic and English
