mselect is hiring a Drilling Materials and Logistics Manager for a national oil and gas operator in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have 7–10 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, with expertise in drilling materials, logistics, and supply chain management. Fluency in English is a must; Arabic and Kurdish are a plus.

Job Purpose
Responsible for all Logistics and material-related matters for well activities with the drilling rigs and workover units. Forecasting the material requirements and managing the timely mobilization of equipment/services to the well-sites.

Key Responsibilities

Planning:
  • Scouting for available warehouse and pipe yard suitable for Drilling Phase 1 and another asset planning
  • Planning the Warehouse layout and stock control system
  • Planning the layout of the pipe yard for ease of handling and inspection
  • Ensure enough stock on the ground for planned well activity
  • Advise on suitable freight forwarding and customs clearance agencies
  • Long-term planning to support 6-10 drilling rigs for Phase 2
Inventory control:
  • Set up an inventory control system
  • Companies are looking to implement an ERP system
  • Organize the warehouse for accurate stock control
  • Train base staff in the stock control system
  • Advise on minimum stock levels required for continuous operations
  • Manage rapid stock allocations to multiple rig activities
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and shortages that may threaten continuous rig operations
Logistics:
  • Manage freight forwarding and customs clearance agencies
  • Manage logistics to remote locations in harsh environments
Supply Chain Management:
  • Work with and coordinate with procurement to ensure supply chain optimization for the timely delivery of equipment and materials to the base
  • Coordinate with base management and rig sites to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials to the rig site
  • Work with QC advisers on inspection and acceptance of equipment and materials
Personnel:
Ensure all aspects of materials and logistics are adequately managed with suitable base and site personnel.

Requirements
  • Experience of working in Iraq, Basra, is an advantage
  • Familiar with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Design and implement supply chains to support the company's business strategy
