mselect is looking for a Business Development Manager for an international FMCG client in Malawi. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 to 10 years in PET Preform & Closure sales. Fluency in English is a must.

Job Objective
To manage category sales to achieve sales target of entire PET Preform & Closure range of products in the assigned export market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop business plan and sales strategy for the Africa market such as Zambia, Angola, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Indian Ocean Islands, South Africa< Mauritius, Seychelles, etc.  to ensures attainment of category sales growth and profitability

  • Manage contracts with B2B customers and clients in Africa Market

  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors

  • Plan promotions and other schemes for driving sales in different region in Africa market

  • Actively manage the receivables and to this end ensure collections within specified credit limits and as per credit terms of the company from all Clients.

  • Ensure customer commitments are honored and the company’s image and reputation are upheld at all times in the assigned country

  • Keep business abreast with the new product demand / market trend movement

  • Ensure retention of existing customers

  • Understand, reflect & practice company’s vision & values


Qualifications

  • Bachelors: Chemistry/ Plastics/ Packaging Technology

  • Masters: Marketing/ Sales


Competencies

  • 8-10 years of experience in PET Preform & Closure sales 

  • Ability to manage and negotiate with customers

  • Ability to initiate and implement new ideas

  • Knowledge of export documents and customer base

  • Excellent analytical, statistical and sales skills

  • Knowledge of ERP


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve budgeted Volume & GC

  • WSO- Receivables (Zero bad debt/no of days O/S)

  • Forecast Accuracy

  • No. of Customer Added

  • Retention of existing customers

  • Volume achievement by category and market segment
