MSELECT is hiring a Business Development Manager for an international oil and gas service client in Basrah. Candidates must have at least 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry. Fluency in English, and Arabic is a must.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Planning and Strategy
  • A focal point for all elements of the business relationship specifically between the APC Product Line and key oil production operators
  • Determining the long-term business environment and Artificial Lift appropriate response to opportunities and challenges presented within the account
  • Establish tactical (immediate and short term focused on client requests or short-term problem resolution)
  • Facilitate business review meetings with customers, collaborate and communicate effectively with all internal customers (Operations, Sales & Marketing teams, Technology)
  • Monitor relationships with customers, local authorities and communities and Ensure market intelligence and customer knowledge to increase company targets and forecasts achievement
  • Establish best in class practices for HSEQ, prequalification requirements for safety, training, quality in order to maximize operational excellence
  • Maintain cost of operations at minimum level and guarantee best quality installed equipment’s to maximize revenue and net profit
Sales Operations Management
  • facilitate Executive level client contacts and assist Area Operations personnel on tactical issues including conflict resolution, strategic tender coordination and contract management
  • Collaborate with Global Account Management and/or Strategic Account Management on various business initiatives to include reporting accurate marketing intelligence for market share position and growth opportunities
  • Direct the design and implementation of the sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of sales process across Iraq
  • Lead the execution and refinement of sales plans to meet customer demands and deliver APC’s strategic objectives
  • Lead the identification of the performance indicators for sales targets, oversee its achievement, and amend action plans to ensure achievement of set targets
  • Oversee the execution of APC Iraq Operations contracts to ensure proper installation of provided products
Field Operations Management
  • Ensure the fulfilment of maintenance contract specifications, and maintain APC’s standards in order to ensure delivery of agreed contractual services to customers
  • Oversee investigations of APC product failures, validate findings, and approve corrective actions based on identified findings
  • Lead negotiations with customers to address product failure investigation findings, and recommend preventative measures to avoid future product failures
Business Development
  • Lead the identification of new opportunities in order to achieve the sales targets and objectives
  • Analyse and review the technical specifications of contracts and proposals, from a petroleum engineering perspective, to ensure its alignment with APC and customer standards
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and industry leaders, and represent and position APC as a thought-leader in Oil and Gas industry related events and exhibitions
Policies, Processes and Procedures
  • Direct the development and oversee the implementation of Iraq Operations policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality and cost-effective results
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through adapting to changes in international standards, changes in the business environment and adoption of leading practices within Iraq Operations
  • Oversee escalated Iraq Operations non-compliance case resolution and reduce non-compliance through ensuring the availability and promotion of stipulated policies and procedures
Budget
  • Review operations’ budgeting cycle and lead the budgeting process
  • Manage Iraq operations effectively within budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
  • Evaluate strategies that result in positive financial impact for APC and mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Make, submit and justify budget enhancement requests to VP ME
Safety, Health and Environment
  • Direct compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and responsible environmental behaviours
  • Oversee the resolution of escalated non-compliance to policies and procedures in order to foster a safety, health and environment culture, mitigate risks, and protect APC’s interests
  • Oversee the application and improvement of all relevant safety, health and environmental management related policies, procedures and controls
People Management
  • Help install a culture of development, guidance and performance within East and Iraq Operations
  • Lead, guide and evaluate a team of unit heads
  • Provide development opportunities to the team and ensure career paths and succession plans are charted out
  • Empower team members to take business decisions by effectively delegating authority
  • Identify and recruit key senior talent for Iraq Operations
  • Set and communicate clear performance expectations, coach and provide support and regular feedback to Middle East and Asia Operations unit heads on performance
 
KEY REQUIREMENT
  • 15 to 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry, with at least 8 years of experience in a senior managerial position
  • Previous Oil and Gas downstream processes’ experience is required
  • Previous technical Oil and Gas industry knowledge is required
  • Previous Business Development experience is required
  • Previous Customer Relationship and Supplier Management experience is required
  • Extensive knowledge of ESP Artificial Lift Systems, predominately for Unconventional markets (Job experience would be beneficial) but knowledge of conventional market as well
  • Extensive business skills necessary to evaluate markets and develop specific Business Development strategies to assist Operations in gaining additional ESP specific business opportunities
  • Extensive knowledge of business plans, customer requirements, and market demands
  • Excellent communication skills. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to recognize and solve problems of highly complex nature
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required
