mselect is looking to hire an Associate Help Desk Specialist for an international oil and gas operator in Erbil. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English, Kurdish is a must Arabic is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

 
  • General information technology work involves managing or performing work across multiple areas of an organization’s overall IT Platform/Infrastructure, including analysis, development, and administration of: IT systems software, hardware, and networks; end-user technology & software support
  • Responsible for resolving routine technical hardware, software, or configuration problems. Requires some knowledge of IOS/PC/LAN communications hardware and software in a multi-protocol environment. May assist with installing terminals and associated hardware and maintain company standards relating to such installation and use of IT equipment. Requires some knowledge of network management software. Coordinates preventive maintenance requirements with operating requirements
  • Assists in assessing and implementing procedures to meet the security needs of users. Ensures that users understand and adhere to necessary procedures to maintain security. Work is supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies, and practices related to the job area. Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in desktop troubleshooting or network control activities
  • Should have good technical troubleshooting skills and excellent non-technical communication skills, both written and oral. Provide installation and support of PC and some Apple hardware and software (including peripheral devices such as printers and USB devices), Wi-Fi routers, and mobile devices (install, repair and functioning) along with hands-on experience with diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues
  • Is able to receive and respond to incoming calls and e-mails regarding workstation and peripheral performance and use requests. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of workstation and peripheral problems for various end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including remote repair. Must create a high level of user satisfaction through accurate, timely follow-up, strong technical skills, good customer communication, and relationship building.
  • Monitor Issues from start to resolve and escalate, if needed, the unresolved problems to a higher level of support. Adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and monitoring helpdesk requests. Knowledge of antivirus and spyware removal techniques. Monitors systems, checks the security system(antivirus), troubleshoots the system in case of failure or bugs, and provides solutions. Performs routine checks of user PCs/Laptops (in case of no issues). Adhere to the work management process of the company procedures

Key Requirements 
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in the appropriate computer science or IT related discipline required
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient verbal and written skills in Kurdish, English is essential , Arabic is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Mac iOS is desirable). Knowledge of office productivity software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Knowledge of basic networking and connectivity - DHCP, DNS, Cabling, etc
  • Moderate to high skills with a high level of proficiency. A developing professional who consults with senior peers on non-complex activities. Performs specific and well-defined assignments. Work is generally reviewed for results
