Overview

​Delivering a training session may seem simple, but it actually requires specific skills and an understanding of how people learn. Trainers who reflect on their own methods and abilities are better prepared to design and deliver engaging, effective, and well-structured sessions. This program helps trainers build a strong foundation in training and facilitation skills, using a range of techniques to create meaningful learning experiences and enhance participant engagement and retention. Over time, the course supports trainers in further developing their practical abilities. Participants will receive a certificate issued by the CPD.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the skills, knowledge, attitudes, roles, and responsibilities of a professional trainer.

  • Recognize key traits of outstanding trainers and how adults learn.

  • Identify learning styles and apply suitable strategies, including Neuro-linguistic Patterning techniques, to engage learners.

  • Assess whether performance issues require training and choose or create appropriate training materials.

  • Write clear performance objectives and select effective training methods.

  • Start sessions effectively, use introductions and summaries to reinforce learning, and facilitate activities, role plays, and icebreakers.

  • Use body language and voice tone confidently, manage pre-training nerves, and keep sessions on schedule.

  • Handle challenging participants and understand learning preferences of Gen X and Gen Y learners.
