Job Purpose
Accountable for successfully executing landscape maintenance projects, meeting established quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. They play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, fostering a safety culture, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, the Operations Director contributes to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, ultimately supporting the overall success and growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties:
- Retain existing clients and nourish relations through regular communication with client decision makers, and secure new contracts
- Review contract documents for the client’s requirements and execute works within its scope
- Ensure all Projects are supported and have the resources required for the projects to succeed
- Resolve any conflicts arising between projects regarding allocation and transfer of resources, especially manpower
- Monitor, evaluate, and report the performance of projects to the General Manager and provide insight into the critical factors influencing the organization's activities
- Advise on corrective action for poorly performing projects
- Audit the performance of all projects under the operations and advise on preventive & corrective actions to be taken
- Perform field review and inspection of assigned projects and ensure compliance with Operational Standards
- Establish, maintain, and apply policies and procedures related to operational activities
- Challenge Project Managers to ensure the project timetables, goals, and deadlines are met in an efficient and satisfactory manner
- In conjunction with HR, review the PMs' recommended increment and bonus for employees and verify and approve/revise recommendations as required
- In coordination with the Human Resources Manager, reviews the Project Manager’s request for site overtime and/or extra manpower and approves or rejects
- Evaluates the performance of Project Managers and submits to HR for further action
- Ensure that the historical experience from executed projects is utilized in the new tenders
- Review Enquiry documents
- Review/ study specifications and drawings for anomalies
- Send clarifications/ queries to Clients, attend pre-tender meetings and site visits
- Bid and Estimation preparation: Prepare maintenance schedules, Manpower and Equipment estimation, Material requirement
- Review estimates and costs with the General Manager and the Operations Manager
- Implement and monitor the Company Quality HSE & ISM Safety Management System for the full Project team at all locations
- Interaction with the project team on a day-to-day basis, with other heads of the departments, I section on a section-by-section basis
- On projects, the interaction with the client is through the Project Manager, Interaction with subcontractors and suppliers also, either directly or through departmental I section heads
- Ensure the (PQP) Project Quality Plan implementation by employees and sub-contractors is applied
- Perform site audit to monitor and verify the Quality Assurance and Control implementation and to ensure its compliance with BOS (Operational Standards), quality management system, project specifications, method statements, and safety procedures
- Set quarterly and yearly Quality objectives and evaluate their completion
- Identify non-conformances; issue and follow up on non-conforming reports (NCRs) and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain a healthy & safe environment at the workplace
- Follow the rules and regulations according to the company policy
In addition to all job-specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible for familiarizing themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. The client’s HSE department regularly updates existing and introduces new policies, procedures, and practices, and each employee is personally responsible for ensuring they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.
Information Security responsibilities:
- Comply with Information Security Policies
- Be aware of and fulfil their information security responsibilities
- Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information has taken the Security Awareness Training
- Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec)
- Do not disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
- Restrict use to authorized purposes, protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
- Accept accountability of his/her user accounts, and maintain confidentiality
Requirements
- Education & Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering; Certificate course in a relevant field
- Industry Experience (No. of years): Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar field)
- Competencies and Skills: Experience in management, operations, and leadership
