Job Summary
The E&I/Telecom Supervisor is responsible for ensuring HSE compliance and for managing and following up daily on the E&I/Telecom construction activities carried out by the GPP EPC contractor, in coordination with the Construction Lead and Construction Manager. The role ensures that the GPP contractor executes the E&I/Telecom scope in accordance with the contract, identifies any deviations, and proposes corrective actions. The supervisor also liaises with the GPP supervision team to ensure progress, quality, and HSE standards are maintained on site.
Key Objectives
- Good experience working to international standards in electrical and instrumentation oil and gas projects
- Can read and interpret drawings correctly (P&ID, cable schedules, layout drawings and any other required)
- Experience working in hazardous area installations in oil and gas projects
- Has a good understanding of hazardous area equipment (junction box/gland types, etc)
- Some MV experience with extensive experience in LV and instrumentation installations
- Experience in cable containment and cable pulling activities of all types using cable pulling machines
- Good knowledge of testing requirements for all types of equipment (cables, motors, switchgears, etc)
- Planning knowledge and experience-able to work with the contractor to identify scheduling, material and resourcing issues
- Confident in managing contractors with some contractual knowledge
- Experience working with quality management systems and procedures
- Can review and approve method statements and other contractor documents
- Experience or general knowledge of working with systems completions (MC walkdowns/punch list closure)
- Physically fit and can work under pressure safely
- Some shutdown planning and execution experience
- Lockout/tagout (LOTO) experience
Key Accountabilities
- During the execution phase, the job holder’s mission is to ensure HSE compliance in accordance with established standards
- Management and follow-up of E&I/Telecom activities and coordination with the GPP E&I/Telecom superintendent and construction Lead
- Ensure the GPP contractor executes the E&I/Telecom activities accordingly
- Identify any deviation and propose a correction
- Liaising with the GPP Construction area lead team to ensure progress execution, quality and HSE on site
Requirements
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience and at least 10 years of onshore construction experience in a Supervisor role
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Delivery-focused with proven experience in achieving project goals whilst maintaining high standards in HSSE at all times
- Extensive knowledge of the construction process, its implementation and management; Full conversant with project management tools
- Experienced in the production of detailed procedures/documents/reports
- Experienced in the management of personnel and all aspects of teamwork
- Extensive knowledge of O&G-related HSSE safe working practices/procedures related to E&I/Telecom activities
- Excellent knowledge of the English language; Arabic is a plus
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment
