Job Objective
The General Director oversees the activities of the Export Office and is responsible for achieving the Export office’s mission to guide and support priority sectors to improve their export capabilities and to attract investments into Kurdistan’s exporting sectors, in tandem with other agencies across the organisation’s ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop the export office strategy
- Steer and oversee the strategy implementation of the export office
- Oversee and monitor the performance of the export office
- Building a strong and high-performing Export office team
- Provide guidance and directions to department heads to ensure departments fulfill their mandates
- Engage in public relations and represent the export office to other organisations, private sector stakeholders and international buyers and investors
- Maintain accountability to the board and provide reports
- Establish relationships and coordinate with relevant stakeholders across the export office ecosystem in support of exports
Main Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience as a General Director or in other managerial positions
- Understanding of export promotion and familiarity with agricultural products
- Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Business, Agriculture)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Fluent in Kurdish and English, Arabic is a plus
