Job Summary
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems, including pumps, generators, compressors, and piping. The role ensures equipment reliability and supports safe and efficient operations in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, generators, compressors, valves, and piping systems
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical faults and recommend solutions
- Assist in equipment installations, alignments, and overhauls
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service reports, and spare parts usage
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Support emergency repairs and shutdown activities as required
- Collaborate with supervisors and other technicians to ensure the timely completion of tasks
- Report equipment performance issues and suggest improvements
- Maintain tools and ensure proper housekeeping in work areas
Financial Responsibilities
- Responsible for the proper use of tools, materials, and spare parts
- Assist in identifying material requirements and reporting inventory needs
Requirements
Education:
Technical diploma or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
Experience:
- Have 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in oil & gas, industrial, or field environments
- Hands-on experience with rotating equipment, pumps, and generators
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures and safety standards
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Good communication and teamwork skills
