mselect is looking to hire a Junior Control Room Operator for an international oil and gas operator in Duhok. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in a sour Hydrocarbon processing operation. Fluency in English is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY OBJECTIVES:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY OBJECTIVES:
- Assist in operating DCS / PLC, fire and gas and ESD systems and will help optimize the process and reduce and control plant upsets
- Assist in responding effectivity to emergencies
- Assist to ensure that the plant inhibits, and overrides are controlled as per procedures
- Must strive to gain the knowledge to be capable of covering the CRO position as well as Plant Operator positions as required
- Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems
- Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc) within operating requirements
- Trouble shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volumes, to identify problems
- Monitor and operate electrical control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices for Fire and Gas
- Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company
- Implementing and enforcing Management System policies and procedures in particular Isolation Standards and Permit to Work
- Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner
- Report all discharges, leaks, spills, injuries, and incidents, immediately
- Assist maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required
- Assist / Supervise operation of PTW system
- Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment
- Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations
- Coordinate activities and resources across teams or shift
- Contribute to training of personnel in all positions
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with all departments
- Remotely operate and monitor process and utility systems
- Prepare process and utility systems for shutdown
- Isolate and reinstate process and utility systems for maintenance and repair
- Contribute to control of critical situations and respond to emergencies as requires and requested
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must hold Technical or Engineering degree relevant to the position
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sour Hydrocarbon processing operation
- Good level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge including interpretation of P&IDs and C&E charts
- Good level of Production Operations, including Production, Maintenance, Engineering and HSE
- Good knowledge of DCS / PLC and F&G systems operations
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and written in English
