mselect is looking to hire an HSE Training Support for an international energy client in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience within the oil & gas industry. Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.

Job Summary
The Site Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting site operations by managing administrative tasks, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards and company policies. They report to the Site Manager and Project Controls Lead to maintain smooth and efficient site performance.

Main Missions & Activities

HSE Compliance Support:
  • Ensure proper onboarding of new employees and visitors, including HSE, ERW, and security inductions, and the provision of required PPE and welcome kits
  • Support and enforce project guidelines and HSE objectives
  • Attend HSE meetings and training sessions as required
Site Services & General Support:
  • Serves as the primary point of contact between the field site and the office
  • Provides HR process support to the field site team
  • Follow up on pre-onboarding requirements, including IT access, SOC requests, and travel arrangements
  • Assist with organising meetings and maintaining schedules
  • Support the camp coordinator with accommodation and welfare arrangements, particularly for visitors
  • Provide ad-hoc administrative support to site management and facilitate site missions for project teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Provide Arabic language support as required
Administrative Support:
  • Assist with filing and record-keeping, including POB documentation
  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly management reports
  • Perform general clerical duties, including preparing minutes of meetings and handling correspondence
  • Maintain organised and efficient administrative systems and document control
Logistics Coordination:
  • Maintain and update personnel rosters
  • Arrange transportation for personnel, including site and camp movements
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and partners on site access and in-country logistics
  • Support the camp coordinator with shipment coordination and transportation activities
  • Monitor inventory levels and liaise with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods
Procurement Assistance:
  • Support purchase requests and follow up on approvals and deliveries
  • Ensure the timely availability of materials and office supplies
Compliance & Confidentiality:
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and the project code of conduct
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in the performance of all duties
  • Demonstrate high standards of ethical behaviour and full compliance with H3SE rules

Key Accountabilities
  • Deliver effective site services and HSE training support to ensure safe and efficient project execution
  • Provides accurate and timely reports to site management
  • Ensure the organised and efficient implementation of administrative processes
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in the performance of all duties
  • Ensure appropriate escalation and approval of information and decisions in line with management requirements
  • Provide consistent, reliable, and relevant reporting to senior management
  • Demonstrate exemplary behaviour in H3SE compliance, stakeholder engagement, and ethical conduct

Requirements

Professional Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; a degree in Supply Chain Management is an advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience within the oil & gas industry
  • Strong organisational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
