MSELECT is looking to hire a Warehouse Manager for a Power Plant Client in Erbil. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of total warehousing management; out of which 3 or more years of managerial experience preferably in power plant industry. Fluency in English is a must; Kurdish and Arabic are a plus.

Job summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for organizing and controlling demand planning, receipt, storage and issuing of equipment, goods, spares and other stock items as well as their preservation and maintenance to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operations, maintenance, repair of the power plant.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the control and management of all aspects of warehouse operations, material receiving, storage, issuing, stock analysis, inventory controls, inventory levels, cycle counting, materials movement, tracking, surplus and obsolete identification and write off

  • Identifies technology gaps in warehouse operations and proactively seeks solutions, assigns and supervises work of the Inventory Analyst and Material Coordinators

  • Jointly works with Procurement ensuring the development of the warehouse management organization

  • Managing the company initiatives concerning warehouse management

  • Responsible for the continual review of the available corporate Data Base system modules pertaining to warehouse operations identifying areas needing improvement or attention

  • Works with the IT Service for resolution

  • Provides functional expertise and testing to verify system integrity

  • Manages the maintenance of material information in the corporate Data Base System ensuring "static" information (descriptions, manufacturer's data, etc.) is kept up-to-date and that recorded material issues, receipts, cycle counting results, etc. are subject to a Quality Assurance Process

  • Manages stock levels and movements

  • Responsible for providing assistance and summarizing results of the internal audits

  • Assisting the Head of Procurement with formulating, implementing and updating warehouse management procedures

  • Organize proper receiving and issuing of material goods as per local normative documents within the assigned business area

  • Carrying out integrity, completeness and quality checking of all received and issued goods, as well as ensuring safe material handling operations by in-house resources or by engaged contactors

  • Ensure that all inbound/ outbound goods are properly registered and tracked in the available Data Base System of the Company

  • Organize and control timely preservation and maintenance activities as per instructions from manufacturers/ vendors when necessary

  • Participate in the development and control over compliance to the internal normative documents within the assigned competence; including the demand planning procedure, contracts and claims policy and procedure, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the National Legislation as well as highest

  • standard of business ethics, honesty and confidentiality by the subordinate employees

  • Liaise with the equipment and material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, technical supervision authority and other counterparts within the assigned competence

  • Organize record keeping and verification regarding all movements of equipment and material stock by subordinate personnel.

  • Provide inventory and materials’ movement reports to the accounts and Inventorization commissions upon request; compile and submit to management the required reports on obsolete subject for write off

  • Upon directives from the company management; organize warehouse team members’ participation in scheduled and unscheduled stocktaking

  • Responsible for the Health, Safety and Environmental Protection of service personnel working in the warehousing infrastructure.

  • Provides timely and direct feedback to personnel under his supervision to continuously improve health safety and environmental performance and to achieve an Incident and Injury Free Culture

  • Ensures that all HSE procedures and regulations are understood, complied with and enforced with no exceptions

  • Ensures that appropriate safety/ protection equipment is available to all personnel exposed to specific hazards in reducing risk of injury, lost time, and damage to the environment

  • Coaches all employees on strict compliance with all HSE and government requirements involving handling, transportation and storage of hazardous materials.

  • Responsible for hazardous materials transport

  • Evaluate employee performance and goal achievement within the Warehouse Management Service

  • Control over compliance by the employees of the subordinate Business Units to the requirements of the internal labor regulations of the company’s safety, occupational health and environment protection requirements in order to ensure data protection

  • Responsible for the implementation of any other instructions received from the Head of Procurement and the Plant Manager


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of the requirements of the National legislation of the Kurdistan Region

  • Regulating materials’ handling, storage, preservation and maintenance

  • Practical experience in organization and management of warehouse operations, shipping, storage and accounting of material assets

  • Good knowledge of nomenclature regarding various types of materials, equipment and services used in Conventional thermal power plant

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment with strong analytical skills

  • Strong organizational and interdisciplinary skills

  • Focus on HSE and regulatory compliance


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical or Economic disciplines.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English Language; Kurdish and Arabic are a plus

  • Min. 10 years of relevant business experience in warehousing management; out of which 3 or more years of managerial experience preferably in power plant industry

  • Proficiency in using standard office software such as MS Windows and MS Office and/or equivalent

  • Experience in working with ERP systems and applied procurement and inventory management software
