Job Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving hotel revenue through effective sales strategies and developing strong client relationships; the role focuses on generating business across rooms, F&B outlets, banqueting, events, and conferences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets set by the Director of Sales & Marketing
- Grow business across rooms, F&B, banqueting, conferencing, and events
- Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with corporate, government, oil & gas, and travel trade clients
- Conduct sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, and in-house show rounds
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and quotations as per hotel standards
- Solicit new and existing accounts to exceed revenue goals via calls, visits, written communication, and networking
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, community events, and industry functions
- Maintain updated knowledge of market demand, seasonal patterns, and customer preferences
- Assist in the preparation of monthly sales reports, forecasts, and action plans
- Participate in daily business review meetings and pre-convention meetings
- Ensure all client interactions and bookings are accurately recorded in the sales system
- Provide outstanding service to all clients and partners
- Build long-term relationships to enhance repeat business and customer loyalty
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events and group bookings
- Support colleagues across the Sales & Marketing Department
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative working environment
- Share market updates, client feedback, and opportunities with the team
- Stay updated on hospitality sales best practices, industry trends, and competitor offerings
- Participate in training, workshops, and learning opportunities to enhance professional skills
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of managerial experience in Sales within the hospitality/hotel industry
- Proven experience in handling rooms, F&B, and events/banqueting sales
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, email systems, and sales software)
- Ability to travel for sales visits, meetings, and events when required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
