Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all quality requirements for fabrication, construction, and installation activities are implemented in accordance with approved project documents, procedures, and quality control plans
- Verify that contractors, subcontractors, and vendors provide competent resources, apply internationally accepted practices, and deliver products that meet corporate and project-specific quality standards
- Monitor all welding activities at the site and fabrication yards to ensure welding joints are executed in accordance with approved welding procedure specifications (WPS)
- Attend procedure qualification record (PQR) mechanical testing to confirm full compliance with corporate standard requirements
- Witness welders’ qualification tests conducted by contractors, including reviewing visual inspection results and non-destructive testing (NDT) outcomes
- Witness daily NDT activities at the site or fabrication yard, interpret test results, and evaluate any findings
- Monitor in-process inspections of offshore steel structure fabrication and topside facilities at contractor premises, ensuring conformity with corporate standards, project specifications, and relevant international codes and standards
- Provide daily reports to the QA/QC Engineer and advise on contractor compliance with contract procedures, standards, and any issues impacting quality
Requirements
- Qualification: Minimum high technical school or equivalent welding/NDT certification from a recognized organization such as AWS, TWI, API, ASME, ASNT, etc. TWI CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI in welding is a must, and ASNT LEVEL II in NDT
- Experience: minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry with an international consultancy company, third-party inspection/certification Company, EPIC contractor or end user in major projects implementation is essential
