mselect is looking to hire a Projects Performance and Reporting Analyst for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in business analysis or business intelligence, with strong exposure to project reporting systems that support the design and construction phases of major engineering projects. This experience should include at least 5 years in a senior role, preferably within the oil and gas sector. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse existing systems and identify functional requirements for a fully Integrated reporting system to improve reporting and monitoring of DT projects
  • Coordinates with the ICT function in the implementation and maintenance of business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and systems to support effective and efficient management reporting
  • Generate standard or custom reports and synthesise current business intelligence or trend data to support effective management decision-making
  • Analyse trends to identify suitable tools that facilitate the timely flow of business intelligence information to management
  • Coordinate, solicit, analyse, and consolidate the inputs to generate various management reports and presentations to ensure concise and timely reporting to DT management
  • Coordinate the collation of detailed project progress updates to ensure concise and timely reporting on DT projects' progress and performance as required by corporate planning and the corporate leadership
  • Coordinate the annual engineering business department HSE objectives preparation, and submit quarterly HSE performance report to the concerned department to facilitate the submission of HSE performance reports
  • Engage with SMEs to understand and prepare business cases and detailed business requirements for the automation of business processes, and liaise with ICT to address the user requirements for the implementation of proposed solutions
  • Analyse data and provide reports to management on process performance and identify opportunities for optimisation to improve service delivery to DT customers
  • Decision-Making Authority
  • Operates within the framework of established corporate policies and departmental procedures
  • Normally works independently, but at times work is reviewed by the head business & systems to the extent of broad review and approval
  • Encounter situations where information provided by departments may require analysis and reasonable judgement

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a business environment with specific exposure in business analysis/business intelligence relating to project reporting systems for design and construction phases of major engineering projects; 5 years in a senior position, preferably in an oil and gas organisation.
  • Good exposure to project management principles and practices
  • Detailed working knowledge of BPM techniques
  • Related experience and exposure to ERP and Business Intelligence systems and tools
  • Problem-solving and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, as well as good interpersonal, presentation and documentation skills
  • A proven self-starter and team player who can coordinate with other team members in completing assigned tasks
  • Innovative approach towards initiating improvements in the reporting structure, processes and system for the Technical Directorate
  • Proficiency in using the MS Office suite of applications
