mselect is hiring a Plant Operator for an international oil and gas operator in Duhok. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in a hydrocarbon facility. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must.

 

Responsibilities and Key Objectives:

  • Operate process and utility systems effectively and safely the company has Operating Procedures that are expected to be followed along with local regulatory compliance. Communicate with the control room operator and perform necessary tasks safely in order to keep the process facility operating efficiently
  • Start up, monitor and shut down operational and utility equipment effectively and safely
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, pressure, temperature, etc.) within operating limits
  • Ensure sampling is carried out and acted upon if needed
  • Troubleshoot process equipment to maintain quality export product at said volume
  • Monitor electrical and pneumatic equipment, safety and emergency shutdown devices and fire and gas systems
  • Ensure timely readings and production reports are completed at required time
  • Follow Permit to work system, S.O. P’s, and safety management system that are in place
  • Facilitate maintenance by installing and removing isolations as required

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hydrocarbon facility
  • Education: 2-year program for Control and Operation; or another discipline with Engineering qualification
  • Experience in H2S environments
  • Kurdish and English is required 
  • Understanding of permit to work system, isolation systems and risk assessment
  • Knowledge of E.S.D. systems, fire and gas systems, basic knowledge of DCS or PLC systems
  • Capable of understanding PID’s
