Job Purpose
The Material Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all import and export activities related to the project. This includes managing transportation logistics, ensuring timely customs clearance, and maintaining compliance with international trade regulations. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments, freight forwarders, customs offices, and government authorities to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Import/Export Operations:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor Incoming and outgoing shipments of equipment, materials, and supplies
- Ensure all import/export documentation is accurate and compliant with national and international regulations
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs offices to ensure timely delivery and clearance
- Oversee customs clearance processes for all shipments
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and resolve any issues or delays
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs laws and tariff codes relevant to oil and gas equipment
- Manage transportation schedules and routes for domestic and international shipments
- Optimize logistics operations to reduce costs and improve delivery timelines
- Monitor and evaluate carrier performance and negotiate contracts as needed
- Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs documents, and transportation logs
- Prepare reports and KPIs related to logistics performance
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, technical departments, and field operations teams to align logistics activities with project timelines
- Serve as the point of contact for logistics-related inquiries and problem resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in administration and economics, Law, Business Administration, or any other field related to supply chain management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and transportation, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of national and international trade regulations and customs procedures
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
- Strong knowledge of local laws, government procedures, and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in both written and spoken forms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Public speaking and networking abilities
- Proficiency in computer skills and MS Office tools
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems, preferably in the ASYCUDA portal
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
