mselect is looking for a Contract Engineer for an oil and gas operator in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management within the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish is a must.

Job Summary
The Contract Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of contract formation, negotiation, and administration in the oil and gas industry This role ensures that contracts comply with corporate policies, legal requirements, and industry standards The Contract Engineer will work closely with project teams, suppliers, and legal advisors to facilitate successful project execution and risk management

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including terms and conditions to ensure clarity, legal compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Liaise with legal, finance, and operational departments to ensure contract terms align with company objectives and policies
  • Conduct negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions
  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to contract terms and conditions
  • Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and milestones to ensure compliance and timely execution
  • Handle contract amendments, variations, and claims, ensuring all changes are documented and agreed upon
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to align contract terms with project objectives
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations relevant to the oil and gas industry
  • Uphold company standards and procedures in all contract-related activities

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management within the oil and gas industry
  • Strong understanding of contract law and the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to resolve client complaints and concerns
