Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the site construction/installation of work of relevant engineering disciplines of the assigned Construction/EPIC contract and ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with the Scope of Work, approved Engineering Standards, and Specifications
- Participate in constructability review meetings as and when required
- Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material requisitions, etc
- Ability to highlight potential risks and bottlenecks in advance
- Review contractors’ construction plans and schedules, including method statements and JSAs
- Coordinate and control the mobilization of contractors’ manpower and equipment to sites, including activities in site lay down areas
- Facilitate issuance of necessary permits when requested by Contractors
- Check, inspect, and test completed project work
- Ensure and follow up on the completion and clearance of all Punch List items
- To prepare a daily report of activities and inform asset holders (as per the approved distribution matrix) of the progress/constraints and look ahead
- Works closely with PE and other Construction Supervisors
- Report to Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at the site, progress reporting, trends, and recommendations for improvement
- Accountable for supervising the contractor’s work that is in progress, inspecting work, reporting problems, and preventing accidents occurring because of negligence, by enforcing safety standards on the work site
- Liaise and report with the QC Inspector on quality-related matters
- Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety-related matters
- Prepare and categorize the punch list and ensure that all punch list items are cleared by the contractors
- Coordinate pre-commissioning activities and assist during the commissioning of facilities
- Initiate Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC) and support the commissioning team in the handover of certificates
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering discipline from a recognized University with extensive construction-related experience
- HSE qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, Lifting Supervisor, etc., would be an added advantage
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in relevant construction and installation activities in projects of the oil & gas industry
- Experienced in the implementation of construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards
- Good skills in construction management, effective written /verbal communication, conflict resolution, skills to interface and communicate with internal and external departments, agencies, contractors, and vendors
- Job requirement involves extensive driving across the field; hence, the candidate shall possess a valid driving license (preferably an international license that can easily be exchanged with a Qatari license)
