Job Objective
Senior Transmission Engineer will be responsible for performing back-office and on-site tasks related to the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of DWDM, OTN, SDH, and Analyzer tester equipment. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for creating services, supervising projects, and participating in expansions, surveys, and acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with DWDM, OTN, SDH, and Analyzer tester
- Perform equipment maintenance and configuration, ensuring that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency
- Create and supervise projects related to transmission optics, including expansions, surveys, and acceptance testing
- Conduct service testing and ensure that the quality of service, latency, and bit error rate meet customer requirements
- Communicate with other departments, vendors, and customers to ensure project success
- Update the database of the department regularly, ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to the team
- Work on-site when required, performing installation, commissioning, and maintenance of transmission optics equipment
- Create service documentation, reports, and manuals related to transmission optics
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in transmission optics engineering
- Excellent knowledge of DWDM, OTN, SDH, and Analyzer tester
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in creating service, troubleshooting, and maintenance documentation
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work on-site when required
- Good understanding of project management methodologies and tools
