mselect is looking to hire a Senior Quality Engineer for an international oil and gas service client in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
 
JOB OBJECTIVE
Supervises and coordinates all activities related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance of inspection of work packages completed and to be sold off to the client.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
 
Compliance Operations and Reporting:
  • Manage and oversee project quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, equipment specific specifications, and QMS requirements
  • Advancing quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
  • Identify and develop solutions to correct inspection function deficiencies
  • Analyze efficiency of quality assurance standards ISO 9001 and API Q1
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
  • Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
  • Archive all internal audits and other quality assurance activities documentation
  • Investigate and report customer complaints and non-conformance issues
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
  • Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
  • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
  • Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Monitor risk management activities
  • Responsible for document management systems
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Comply with all relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations as required in line with agreed safety, health and environment policies, procedures and controls
  • Report on changes that impact relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls
Policies, Processes and Procedures:
  • Following all relevant quality’s policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement systems, processes and practices considering leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Promote the implementation and adherence to policies, processes and operating procedures
  • Draft quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Interpret and implement quality assurance standards
 
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
 
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Quality Engineering
  • Quality inspection, testing and auditing experience
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
  • Product or industry-specific experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements is preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and API Q1 is preferred
  • Preferred experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy is required
Education and Certifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
  • Certifications in Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma is preferred
