mselect is looking for a Quality Inspector for a manufacturing client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Objective
Implementation of Quality strategy in line with Group Quality strategy, policies, common platforms and best practices across local factory operations and achieve stated Quality standards.
Ensure integrity of BOM’s, Product Specs and Master Data in relevant EHS and MD platforms for Middle East in liaison with RPC, Product, Operations and Master data team in the area/region


  • Guide and direct Quality resources and activities in Iraq, focusing on consistently meeting consumer requirements and effecting further improvements
  • Maintain BOM’s, master data, Recipes and product specifications of ME within EHS and MDM platforms, in liaison with RPC, Product, Operations and master data team
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely product and process quality information in support of smooth functioning of the factory and d to facilitate decision making
  • Provide Quality training to all factory and TM&D personnel on relevant Quality related common platforms and best practices
  • In partnership with procurement, Source factories and production, ensure Quality of inputs to the production process consistently meet requirements
  • Manage quality data collection, processing and analysis, investigate and reveal trends. Submit those data to the relevant functions to ensure any problematic areas are identified and resolved
  • Ensure global, regional, and other reporting requirements are met as within set deadlines
  • Management of quality department staff in line with the Company strategy, setting SMART objectives to direct reports and following up on their performance against agreed targets
  • Co-ordination and control of infestation procedures and reporting activities
  • Ensure Partners quality requirements and expectations for export are followed and implemented
  • Establish a cleaning and inspection regime in the factory as per PI&T & PM&H
  • Conduct regular self-assessment, identify gaps, and work closely with key stakeholders to close
  • To lead a professional and well-motivated team, ensuring appropriate training and development
  • Ensure regular communication with team members on Business results, company news & changes, projects and follow up on action plans
  • Participate in materials, process and product development projects to ensure process and product quality performance requirements are met
  • Networking with RPC, Regional Quality Team, Regional master data team and Marketing teams to share /gain knowledge
  • The Quality and Product Improvement Executive is a key role in facilitating the achievement of Area/factory quality objectives and integrity of Master data
  • Reporting directly to the Operations Manager but working across functional groups, the job holder ensures appropriate consideration of current quality issues, Integrity of BOM’s, master data and Product specifications
  • Key functions of the Quality Department are; Laboratory analysis, Product inspection, Specification Management, Materials Assurance, Auditing & Calibration and Information & Reporting
  • The Quality Department works closely with the following functions/ departments, RPC, Marketing, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, Leaf and support functions


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Technical degree or qualification in Quality, Science, Engineering or a related discipline plus proven manufacturing and/or product related experience with familiarity of cigarette and packaging design; tobacco processing, filter, cigarette and packaging manufacture and assembly; and awareness of other elements of the supply chain
  • High working knowledge on EHS system in relation to Recipes, BOM’s, Product Specifications, and Master data management
  • High knowledge of inspection, test methods of cigarette manufacturing and technology
  • Awareness of market research techniques relating to consumer product quality requirements
  • Understanding own product performance in relation to consumer product quality requirements, competitor activities and market developments
  • Practical competence in analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement methods and techniques (including SPC, fishbone diagrams etc)
  • Able to actively listen and lead an open and productive dialogue with management at all levels and outside partners
  • Able to evaluate performance and competencies, make best use of available talents and develop them
  • Good level of personnel and resource management skills (i.e. people, equipment and process)
  • 3 to 5 Years of relevant experience
  • Understanding own product performance in relation to consumer product quality requirements, competitor activities and market developments
  • Awareness and understanding of latest developments in Production Quality Management techniques
  • Inter-personal skills, communication, persuasiveness, assertiveness and negotiation through the organization
