mselect is seeking a Project Security Coordinator for an esteemed international energy client based in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in similar position in the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Objective
The Project Security Coordinator acts as the local security expert in charge of the coordination of all the project’s security related subjects with the focus on external parties (Iraqi Security Forces, communities, contractors). Ideal candidate should have a global vision and understanding of the missions of all the contractors involved in the project and is a facilitator and a coordinator with Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) to properly secure the development of security activities on the ground.

Main Accountabilities
  • Monitor and coordinate State forces client’s assets protection mission and deployment around the project sites
  • Support the monitoring of contractors and suppliers’ compliance with company security requirements
  • In close cooperation with ISF operations command, ensure company requested mitigations measures are effective
  • Support daily the consolidation of POB
  • Support the implementation and enforce company security policies, legal requirements, and best practices on site.
  • Support trainings for security personnel (security exercises, awareness involving ISF)
  • Monitor and audit the security contractor performance on site
  • Participate to regular threat assessments with possible information from ISF
  • In close coordination with sustainability department, ensure a regular update of the area situation.
  • Issue security reports (daily, weekly)
  • Investigate on security incidents in area of interest and provide related reports
  • Participate in crisis management as Security Liaison Officer with ISF

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of defence, security or foreign affairs or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar position
  • Knowledge about Iraqi Security Forces: previous experience in ISF (5 years)
  • Fluent English + Arabic written and spoken (English and Arabic written test required prior profile validation)
  • Ability to rapidly create a strong network with communities and security forces.
  • Experience in liaising and coordinating with security forces, private security companies, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills Great communicator and Good negotiation skills and sense of analysis
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good command of MS Office
