mselect is looking to hire a Head of Operations for a fintech client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in banking and financial services. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Description
The Head of Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operations in Iraq. Reporting directly to the executive team, you will be responsible for supervising all operational activities, including managing the team of cash collectors and overseeing the maintenance of our smart kiosk machines across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the team of cash collectors, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards for secure cash collection from kiosk machines and points of sale
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for efficient cash collection operations, optimizing routes and schedules to maximize collection efficiency
  • Ensure that cash collection activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, minimizing risks related to cash handling and transportation.
  • Oversee the maintenance team to ensure that all smart kiosk machines are functioning properly and are free from faults or technical issues
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for kiosk machines, coordinating with the maintenance team to perform regular inspections and repairs as needed
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate the transportation of cash collections and maintenance equipment, ensuring timely and secure delivery to designated locations
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, banking partners, and service providers, to ensure alignment and compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and market developments, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the fintech or banking industry, with a track record of success in overseeing complex operational activities
  • Strong understanding of cash handling procedures, security protocols, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
  • Proficiency in operational planning and execution, with experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken, is required
  • Willingness to travel within Iraq as needed to oversee operations in different regions and engage with stakeholders
