mselect is looking to hire a Fibre Optic Design Engineer for an international IT client in Erbil. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must.

Responsibilities
  • The Fibre Optic Design Engineer is responsible for conducting fibre optic detailed network Rerouting for middle- and last-mile fibre-based networks
  • Understanding different levels of implementation and operation of optical network
  • Optical network target points to consider when designing an optical network Operation view
  • Differentiate between different types of optical cable based on their functionalities
  • Preform important steps in planning the OSP installation various deployment methods which will be useful in the installations lay the fibre cable in efficient and safe ways
  • Carry out survey systematically and effectively documentation
  • Calculation of the quality of the rerouting and project implementation method feasibility of carrying out the work according to the planning with considering geographical naturality
  • Create and maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams
  • Proactively assess the environment and bring forward solutions to increase network resiliency

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in telecommunication engineering with a specialization (OSP)
  • Technical information with civil work info. regarding FO projects implementation
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years
  • Skills in (Maps +Visio + Auto CAD + GIS)
  • Skills on (FOC + Splicing + OTDR Test + LSPM Test + ODF’s) with all FO accessories and materials
  • Studying and planning for new FO projects (BB, FTTS, FTTN, New FO connection, Re-routings
  • Must have information regarding preparing the design and KMZ file and BoQ (Labour + Materials) with projects cost and creating PIP for any FO projects based on design
  • Able to give field notes and decision maker
  • Able to follow up on the problems of citizens and government with solving problems during FO project implementation
  • OSP Eng. is responsible for managing the expenditure of the project and creating progress, reporting, and recommending solutions to management
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications, Auto CAD System, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Submits daily & weekly project status reports
