Job Summary
The Credit Control Officer is responsible for managing customer accounts, monitoring outstanding balances, issuing invoices, and ensuring the timely collection of payments while maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on invoices and billing statements
- Conduct regular follow-ups on overdue payments and manage debt collection activities
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial records
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies
- Prepare ageing reports and regular credit control reports for management
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures
Requirements
- Must have 2–3 years of proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of invoicing, billing, and debt collection processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet payment deadlines
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic accounting systems is an advantage
