Job Objective
The Control & Instrument Engineer is expected to work under supervision and undertake control and instrument upgrades as required, as well as assist in the production of control and instrument design deliverables, procurement activities, and material deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Upholds the HSE policy and procedures within the organization
- Managing Control and Instrument design contractors to ensure scopes meet the operational and technical requirements
- Assists other members of the instrument discipline and develops Instrument technical expertise
- Gain an understanding of the requirements of international standards for control and instrumentation
- Preparation of technical specifications, scopes of work, inspection and test requirements and material requisitions
- Technical evaluation of vendor quotations, including preparation of technical bid comparisons
- Assist with the preparation of project plans, schedules, equipment cost estimation and status reports
- Review and comment on vendor documentation and compilation of comments from other disciplines
- Participate in inspections and testing of control and instrument equipment
- Finalisation of final vendor documentation
- Participating in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessment and design reviews
- Specify and order bulk materials for instrument scopes
- Gain experience of ICSS, PLC systems, fire and gas systems, process instruments, control valves, ESDVs, wellhead control panels, Hydraulic control systems and oil metering, compressor controls
- Experience in working with high H2S
- Deliver engineering deliverables in a timely fashion
- Progress procurement activities in accordance with the schedule
- Deliver fully tested equipment to the site
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Engineering; Qualified to degree level or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team
- Ability to work within both direct reporting lines and dotted-line responsibilities
- Fluent in English, with demonstrated verbal and written proficiency
- Computer-literate with the ability to use standard office software
- Team player capable of collaborating with personnel from diverse backgrounds
- Willingness and ability to develop skills through on-the-job training
- Self-starter with a strong drive to achieve superior results
- Strong presentation, communication, and writing skills
- Logical thinker with excellent analytical skills
