Job Purpose
The cold store supervisor’s overall role is to handle and improve all the cold stores' daily/weekly/monthly routine work. Moreover, the supervisor achieves the target objectives of the organization and company goals, oversees employees, manages company assets and performance, provides guidance and support, identifies development needs, and minimizes all gaps within the agro supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
- Coach and counsel employees as needed
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovatively or adjust existing work procedures or practices
- Confer and coordinate activities with other departments
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Ensure the accuracy of inventory and production-consumption
- Communicate position expectations and train employees
- Dedicated to cultural change
- Operate or tend automatic spacing/de-spacing machines
- Operate material handling equipment to support receiving, storage, delivering, staging, and product relocation
- Operate all equipment within safety guidelines and attend regularly scheduled safety meetings Report any accidents and/or incidents immediately after the occurrence
- Receiving-unload inbound shipments safely and moving products to the storage locations Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate area(s)
- Offloading and Loading -efficiently move product from the staging or storage areas into production and/or trailers
- Equipment-load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using a forklift, crates, cold store equipment, or other power equipment
- Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in neat, clean, and best practices Daily, inspect and verify equipment and cold store Cooling system is operating before the start of the day's activity
- Advice the management of any problems encountered
- Safety, Sanitation, and Security- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
- Possess the ability to understand and operate a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure accurate completion of assignments
- Tracking and maintaining the cold store loss (potato & corn)
- Prepare and share the daily stock report with management
