mselect is looking to hire an Accountant for an automotive client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within the automotive, trading, or retail sector. Fluency in English is a must.

Job Purpose
The accountant is responsible for managing daily accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting financial reporting for the automotive business. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting operational efficiency within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts on a regular basis
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Monitor expenses and ensure proper documentation and approval of financial transactions
  • Support inventory accounting related to automotive parts, vehicles, and materials
  • Assist with budgeting and cost tracking to support financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local financial regulations
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as sales, procurement, and operations for financial documentation and reporting
  • Assist during internal and external audits by preparing required financial data and documentation

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within the automotive, trading, or retail sector
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes
  • Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and Odoo
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and coordination skills
