Course Overview

Chemical Waste Awareness and Management training course is designed to provide lab staff, individuals and anyone who works with chemicals; with knowledge and skills on how to safely handle, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous chemical waste.

The training course typically covers the following topics:

• Identification of hazardous chemical waste: Participants are taught how to identify different types of hazardous waste and the associated risks

• Chemical waste management: Participants learn about the proper handling, storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous waste

• Regulatory compliance: The course covers the legal requirements for the management of hazardous waste, including regulations from government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

• Risk assessment and mitigation: Participants are taught how to assess the risks associated with hazardous waste and implement mitigation measures to reduce the risks

• Emergency response: The course may include training on emergency response procedures in the event of a chemical spill or release

• Identification of Chemical Security Vulnerabilities: The course will cover the weaknesses or gaps in the security systems and procedures that are in place to protect chemical facilities and the materials they store or produce.
