mselect is looking to hire a Subsurface Data Specialist for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
Role Synopsis
Data Management (DM) contributes to every stage of the Upstream value chain and has the potential to make a significant impact on how efficiently & effectively our business operates.
Reporting to the Subsurface Data Lead, this role will primarily provide petro-technical data management database support across the Subsurface business.
Key Accountabilities
Copy, load, QC and archive a variety of Subsurface data types, tracking the flow of data from contractors to the company, and onto MEST and operating partners. Data loading to Linux & Windows based software packages and also occasional assistance in building and improving processes and controls.
Integral in maintaining the silent running of Subsurface Data Management operations whilst being able to provide front line support.
Criteria & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a natural science, or engineering including Geology, Reservoir, Petroleum Engineering or Geodesy.
- Post requires industry experience and some of the following IT skills:
- Experience using or administering Exploration & Production Petro- technical tools and database applications, e.g. Landmark’s Openworks Suite, Schlumberger’s OFM/Petrel and Techlog etc.
- Linux/Unix, Windows, Oracle, SQL
- In depth knowledge of data management concepts, standards, practices, tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of portal technology deployment.
- Experience in spatial data management.
- Good understanding of full field life cycle management and planning processes
- Relevant years of experience: 5 years
