mselect is looking to hire a Senior Emergency Response Support for an international energy client in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in incident management, emergency response, or crisis management. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Purpose
The Senior Emergency Response Support is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the Incident management system and emergency response management system in line with company standards. The role assists operational sites and contractors in developing and implementing emergency response processes, monitors emergency preparedness and response performance, supports the development of emergency plans and procedures, and coordinates training and emergency exercises to maintain and develop personnel's competencies in ER.

Key Activities
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the emergency response management system, including emergency response plans, medevac and evacuation plans, oil spill contingency plans, procedures, training, and related documentation
  • Ensure emergency response facilities and equipment are operational and ready for use, including crisis rooms, fire extinguishers, and AEDs
  • Assist operational sites and RSES in implementing site contingency plans aligned with the affiliate's emergency response framework
  • Support the emergency response leader in coordinating resources and preparing personnel for effective crisis response
  • Organise and coordinate emergency response site inspections in collaboration with the medical team, documenting findings and recommendations
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in emergency response ER drills with contractors, prepare reports, recommend corrective actions, and monitor action plan implementation
  • Monitor emergency response performance by collecting KPI data and preparing regular reports
  • Participate in the duty manager rotation, providing emergency response support with other ER members as required

Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in incident management, emergency response, or crisis management
  • Strong knowledge of incident management, emergency response, crisis management, and oil spill response practices
  • Ability to analyse, synthesise, and present complex information effectively
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and coaching skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic, multicultural environment
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required
